About Mary Lou McCambridge
Themes of landscape and floral, visited and imaginary, are infused in Mary Lou McCambridge’s works. She draws from a well of images from sketches and photographs she has visited. A west coast inhabitant, she is fascinated with mountain, ocean, water, trees, flowers and now desert themes. Mediums are Watercolor, Acrylic, Mixed media, and Collage. Always interested in art, she started painting at the age of 8, with a set of oil paints that her father handed down. She was fascinated with making images and was exposed to some great painters, living close to the Seattle Art Museum. Influenced by Seattle artists called the Mystic painters, the painters of Silver light, modernism in the Northwest. She picked up a calligraphic style, using...
